The Black Dog and The Grim from Harry Potter. The Grim = Omen of death = Death of Showgirl Taylor, and her relationship to her fans. Harry thinks he sees The Grim in his teacup, but (*spoiler alert) it turns out to be The Black Dog, his godfather (Father Figure).

"Taylor Swift... is lying to you." - Bo Burnham

Me listening to a hetlor explain how Betty is from the male's perspective

I didn't know this either. We were discussing mockumentaries in a different thread. I was thinking a mockumentary would go over people's heads, but maybe they are actually making one!

Yes agreed! Though I’ve long wondered if it’d be a mockumentary of some sort. Satire may soften the blow and Travis does seem to be better in comedic roles

I literally JUST brought up this poem in another comment section 🤯

@earthtoerinanne.bsky.social pointed out that it looks like she's disappearing, which made me think of this poem!

Yo what the heck?? Why is the wallpaper like overlaid over her hair??
Taylor swift

The Why She Disappeared poem is coming mind.

Yes, I think this song is more specifically from the POV of a fan who's been around since the beginning/Debut. Also, this may be common knowledge, but I didn't know this until I looked it up, The Starting Line the band is from Pennsylvania.

Yes!! Now I'm thinking about her saying backstage at the Victoria Secret fashion show was "an actual fantasy".
lavenderlatte222.bsky.social
I interpreted "you shared your secrets" as she shared her diaries with us, but I love the secret sessions interpretation!

‼️ Headed to TT to watch some Star Wars/TS edits
lavenderlatte222.bsky.social
And then mentions Happy Gilmore 💀

Plus, those scenes in Happy Gilmore are ridiculous.
lavenderlatte222.bsky.social
Okay. Now I need Star Wars edits to TS songs.
lavenderlatte222.bsky.social
LMFAO I had the same thought.

The "Wow" is sooo sarcastic.
lavenderlatte222.bsky.social
Yes who knows with her! And thank you for the post you tagged. I'll take a look at it!
lavenderlatte222.bsky.social
But I'm loving the time travel stuff though. What is your interpretation of why she's traveling back in time? To rewrite her story? @the7wivesofrh.bsky.social
lavenderlatte222.bsky.social
Interesting!!

I've always viewed Midnights as the ending/finale of the story, even though she gave it to us first. With the Ophelia references now, I view Midnights as depicting what happens when she saves herself from the the fate of Ophelia.

Love this 🪞

Lavender Haze = The real ending. Because she's going to save herself from the fate of Ophelia. She dives and swims in the Eras Tour, right into Lavender Haze.

Gosh, now I'm thinking, Is Robin the same way? Starts out satire, but gets more genuine/honest through the song, and builds at the bridge. I've always been emotionally confused by Robin because it feels more satire at the beginning, but then the bridge feels genuine to me, so this would make sense.

🥹

I didn't make the Coney Island and Invisible String connections. I only thought about Robin with the trampoline reference. I'll have to go listen!
lavenderlatte222.bsky.social
I actually view the entire song from the POV of these types of fans, but I would love to hear other people's interpretations!
lavenderlatte222.bsky.social
I LOVE this interpretation. I was confused by Eldest Daughter because I was feeling satire in the beginning, but then the bridge makes me cry. So I like how you laid out how the genuineness/honesty builds throughout the song.

Actually Romantic from the perspective of her homophobic fans who are going to cancel her after she comes out is hilarious.
