The Black Dog and The Grim from Harry Potter. The Grim = Omen of death = Death of Showgirl Taylor, and her relationship to her fans. Harry thinks he sees The Grim in his teacup, but (*spoiler alert) it turns out to be The Black Dog, his godfather (Father Figure).

Yes agreed! Though I’ve long wondered if it’d be a mockumentary of some sort. Satire may soften the blow and Travis does seem to be better in comedic roles

Yes, I think this song is more specifically from the POV of a fan who's been around since the beginning/Debut. Also, this may be common knowledge, but I didn't know this until I looked it up, The Starting Line the band is from Pennsylvania.

I've always viewed Midnights as the ending/finale of the story, even though she gave it to us first. With the Ophelia references now, I view Midnights as depicting what happens when she saves herself from the the fate of Ophelia.

Gosh, now I'm thinking, Is Robin the same way? Starts out satire, but gets more genuine/honest through the song, and builds at the bridge. I've always been emotionally confused by Robin because it feels more satire at the beginning, but then the bridge feels genuine to me, so this would make sense.

I LOVE this interpretation. I was confused by Eldest Daughter because I was feeling satire in the beginning, but then the bridge makes me cry. So I like how you laid out how the genuineness/honesty builds throughout the song.
