Coincidentally, hearing "imagine this scenario" is exactly when the red flags in my brain go off to start ignoring the speaker because they're about to spout some fake motivational story. Others include "isn't that X?" Like, "isn't that powerful?" Especially if followed by "Don't you feel X?"

Best guess: He doesn't mean Dyson Sphere but instead just means a floating solar powered space station data center. If true it means he's awful at communicating his ideas and just wants to sound cool by using sci-fi futuristic terms.

Reading and realizing you can remove "that" most of the time was mind blowing.

I also have to watch myself for filler phrases too. "He suggested that we should think about X" can just be "we should think about X".

Correct me if I'm wrong, and I say this with genuine curiosity and lack of knowledge, but my understanding was Iran attacked before their half of the ceasefire took effect. I guess unless we have confirmation on the timing of the two intercepted missiles?

This is how CNN frames it.

Half the interactions @hutchythehutch.bsky.social has on Twitter are just this. The other half are him having to explain he was describing an existing process or framework and not giving a moral judgement on an issue.

That said, I think they can be useful. I've used them to help suggest novel approaches to Excel formulas, or give prompts and ideas I can build off of. They're not the end result, as many use them to be. They're an optional middle step before you step back in to finish something.

My point? Who needs experts, research, and a newfound understanding of something when you can have an LLM agree with you, regardless if you're right or wrong. Imagine if a president or PM turned to a sycophantic LLM for economic advice instead of a policy expert?

I can't tell you how many times I've seen arguments on Twitter turn to one person asking grok and getting a reply that's either wrong or useless. Worse yet, I've seen these same people proceed with a smug air of superiority claiming they're right because the AI agreed with them.

ChatGPT suggested an interesting approach for excel partial matching that I had not seen suggested on stackexchange or other common coding websites. Sometimes it's good at what it does. That doesn't mean it's worth it, just that sometimes it is correct and produces useful outputs.

They *can* be useful in very niche circumstances, but even then I have to verify.

For example, asking it to recommend & explain an Excel formula is useful, but I still need to test the formula to verify it does what I asked for.

"261 reasons why Americans are safer now". Is she just casually, on a TV show broadcast to the public, answering one of the questions Boasberg asked after having lawyers argue that they couldn't answer such questions even in private?

Had a very mild exchange with Devezer asking why they thought you meant all business profs vs only those pushing AI. Showed them examples of how you meant only those pushing AI. They said searching your posts was too much work before reply about something you didn't do and blocked me.
