We challenged the decision and gathered evidence of the client’s care needs, vulnerability, and the dangers she was exposed to without support.

After escalating the case, the Local Authority eventually carried out a full Care Act Assessment and accepted its duties under the Care Act 2014.

Despite clear needs and serious risks of exploitation, the Local Authority refused to conduct a Care Act Assessment or provide accommodation.

It was incredibly frustrating to see our client left unsupported and unsafe from exploitation for months when help should have been provided.
