Might be scale. I'd quarantine & treat asap (insecticidal soap, systemic treatments etc.) Good luck!

Not an expert by any means, but assuming you've checked root health and for pests, I'd probably trim the leaves off and let it regrow, ensuring you're consistent with fertilizing, watering and its environmental conditions. I'm sure it'll recover with time 🤞
