Truth. Definitely get attention when they’re something new and different.
Sadly, we haven’t had much rain this monsoon season and it’s been incredibly hot. Yesterday we broke a record for August with 112° temps. It’s going to be a long, dry winter if we don’t clock some real rain soon.

Had another big rain last week and this morning these things were all in bloom. It’s early in these pics - like 6:00 AM so it’s still pretty dark out. Have to walk early as it gets hot fast. 🥵 Doesn’t look like what you usually see in the desert 🌵. Nice change,

I’ve tried everything I can think of. She has sort of given up but she’s still eating much less than she used to. Part of that may just be her age and the kidney disease as I think it suppresses their appetite anyway. Shitty tasting food sure doesn’t help though. Poor thing.
