I once received an application from a freelance editor who had my last name correct, but my first was wrong entirely. She turned out to be my best proofreader. Albeit, this was in hard copy days, and manuscripts would come back from her covered in eraser shavings and cat hair. Can’t have it all! 🤷‍♀️
