meditatively listened to OK Computer in full for the first time in, like, years during a long haul bus ride on a densely foggy morning and it felt perfect. seems like I'm removed enough from the intense personality I had in 2019 to finally begin anew with [some] radiohead records

the Mount Eerie self-titled washed over me this morning just as much as it did 3 years ago when I blasted it through pinhole headphones whilst biking. far preferential to middle-age philosophist Phil over early-adult spiritualist Phil it seems

first-listening to Odelay today during the first 75° day of the year gave me deja vu of endlessly spinning Crooked Rain in summer 2023. straddles that same line between slacker rock trolling and actual songs. takes a fat piss on the line and smudges all the driveway chalk drawings

hopefully this is the last time I have to subject people to writing about U2

glad to not really be an oasis fan while still enjoying some of their tracks cuz it means I can watch this without crying myself to sleep about how I failed the quicktime event for oasis 2025 tickets

the last touchpoint I ever expected from the cure's Wish is that Madchester sound (Stone Roses), but it sure as hell bleeds through - to phenomenal effect. that baggy shuffle beat and half-psychedelic altrock tone makes it a perfect response to Disintegration. somehow more fun while just as dour

blog for the month should be out in a couple days. writing ab U2 again OOPS.
anyways been feeling like I'm putting too much effort into posts that were, at the very start, literally like a sentence or 2. it's starting to feel like work, and not the fun motivating kind but more like school essay toil

tickets for swans during the fall have been purchased. this is their final* tour making loud noises ever so it felt like a necessity to experience it before I never can again. looking forward to ego death

didn't expect reviewing GD levels to legitimately be fun, especially now. made a hyperbolus account on a whim & have been nonstop plugging away at reviews that have probably been simmering in my brain for upwards of a decade. fun to use the part of my psyche intellectually interested in GD again

finished the new Bon Iver with positive thoughts, checked on my ratings across his discog, and like... yeah

BC,NR's Besties is such a ridiculously good song I have no idea why it was panned as the first single. my guess is (as everything with this band) insurmountable expectations but georgia ellery is a queen
looking forward to the next Jockstrap LP for similar reasons

fascinating compilation, classic, impulse grab with a beautiful cover, respectively

listened to The Great Annihilator - a fantastic exercise in schadenfreude. swans's strain of terse black comedy and poetic cruelty has never been more amusing.
will be coming back to this, pretty easily my fav from them

the new Weatherday reminds me I missed my window to install the pop-punk&emo direct-to-emotional-override circuits at age 15 or whatever.
most of this music doesn't fill me with immense glee it more just makes me feel like I'm wading through a kneehigh torrent of 3min pop songs for no good reason

postmortem: another helping of by-the-numbers femme indie pap that danny L could not save
watched the trackstar soccer mommy interview and figured now was as good of a time as any to get into that 2022 record of hers I always meant to come back to
(not just because OPN was on boards, but that is some of the reason)

attended one of those bum ass listening parties for the new BC,NR for all of 15 minutes. I wish the vibes weren't so cold but that's fundamentally how record store listening parties work.
anyways glad to have what will be a piece of me roughly 4 hours early
