I look back on a novel like What a Carve Up!, which was extremely polemical, and from a literary point of view, very one-sided, and I stand by its politics but I’m not sure I stand by it aesthetically any more. www.theguardian.com/books/2023/a...

I know he's somewhat disowned it, because he feels it leans far too heavy on the satire to be a work of art, but What A Carve Up! by Johnathan Coe feels more and more on the nose as time goes on.
