Today Anglo American are holding a shareholder meeting where they will vote on the merger with Teck Resources, which would see their HQ shift to Canada.

We’ll be at the meeting to raise our concerns about this move enabling Anglo to evade accountability for the harms of its mining operations.

Anglo American must be held accountable for 100 years of harm in South Africa. The company’s disinvestment from the country and proposed merger with Teck Resources (which will be voted on tomorrow) put this in serious jeopardy.

Full solidarity with South Africans fighting for reparations & redress.

Huge thanks to everyone who came down to our workshop outside the DSEI arms fair.

We had a great discussion about how mining supplies the resources used to make the weapons shamefully on exhibit now in London, which go on to be used to suppress resistance to mining worldwide.
