there's this incredible video from a while ago about the practice of using placeholder scores in movies. they edit their films with pre-existed movies scares then tell the composer to make an original score that lines up to the edit. It results in scores that are clear rip offs of the original.

Like, I still can't get over the whole Postal fiasco from a bit ago. They also hid behind the idea that the AI was just their for reference and the art LOOKED LIKE DOGSHIT. Compare it to the visual identity the series had before it's like night and day, AI makes things look like overproduced slop!

Everyone who uses AI for content gen tries to justify it with increasingly bizarre mitigations from "we're only using it to prototype", "we're only using it to iterate", "we're only using it to fill in some gaps", "we're barely even using it", "hey it still took us all night", "it's not even good"
