I caught a clip last night of him saying he talks about Trump falling asleep, etc. on his show ALL the time. because he didn’t do so with Biden, and that’s why a book was necessary.

It is awful, isn’t it. Almost 40 years. I might not be alive if it weren’t for him and his wife. I had scary depression for a long time. He helped me through it. Damn. I have to move on.

He’s a boomer, but sounds like his dad’s generation of comics who had no problem with talking over each other or taking something that is said and running with it. Plus close your eyes and listen to his accent and timing. Like an old school guest on Carson and Steve Allen. He is so earnest.

The night of the election the Bushes were interviewed by a news station. It was pretty late. Pappy and Barbara were seated next to each other talking about a Gore victory. He said, with a glance to his wife, in his nasal whiny voice, smiling quite smugly, “Well. We don’t have all Florida yet.”
