Been looking at solo rule sets. Lots of people recommend Spectre Operations but ive also been recommended Frontline Heroes, or Haywire.

That being said, it can be hard for newer GMs, especially those not confident in their abilities to help others. Not everyone has your experience but it does sound a less that idea situation. If you get a chance maybe have a chat with them. Could be they just need some pointers

Yeah that just sounds like the GM could have been a little more prepared even if they're a new GM they could have used pre-made characters even if they'd use a LLM to generate those sheets it would have been a better experience for the newbies

While I agree that LLMs to produce "creative" things is often problematic, not everyone is feels confident enough to create an entirely new character. LLMs can be a useful on ramp allowing people to easily produce a base/flesh out a character based on a few keywords they can then build on/modify
