lol, it’s true, people really do put some crazy stuff up there. I sill think about a tourist from Cali who came with a vibrator up his booty. It was ON 😳… plan was to take him to surgery, but he eloped with his fiancée. I mean… what was he going to say to TSA when he wanted to fly back to Cali???

I grew up in small towns as well. Farm country northwestern Illinois. It’s pretty darn hard to get through to any of them. There are Dems there, of course, but not many.

That’s true. I recently retired so I know what you mean. How to manage my older years is a bit of a worry. I hate nursing homes. I’ll take a long walk in Lake Michigan before I go into a nursing home.

We also got all of the psych patients because there is no money for them so the privates didn’t want them. We had our own beds, but they were never enough.

Yes, over my many years of nursing, I’ve seen good hospitals go to **** after being bought by certain entities. I spent many years at a not for profit where we gave excellent care to everyone. No wallet biopsies done there. But every other hospital I worked at was definitely prioritizing $$$

I was an ER nurse in the middle of a code. Family standing near the bedside when the HO (in charge of the hospital that shift) walked in & announced to the room “send someone home, save the hospital a little money”. The family was so focused on their mother that I don’t think they heard the remark.

Oh yes, it will be a long process if we did decide to do that. I just feel Americans have been taught a lot of misinformation about “government” healthcare. I try to clear that up when I can. I truly love the VA. The one in Iowa City is amazing! Nowadays, I use Hines/Chicago. It’s very good also.

Oh , I know some have a lot of problems. Tuscon has a bad one per my brother. But the VA still is as good or better than what I got when I was on private care.
