It is cool that algorithmic siloing into self-reinforcing bubbles online is making people rediscover and appreciate analog modes of #scicomm IRL. Great @sarahmackattack.bsky.social talk on this at #SICB2026. Really neat—and cheap—scicomm, if you’re not afraid to get out there where people are.

I’ve had our Audible membership on pause for most of this year, as the kids have been unsure about letting go of, e.g., Slayers, the Buffyverse book only available there, but this is the last straw. You don’t get to splash this trash on my screen and expect to get any more money from me.

Have dosa/idli gone mainstream in America? Or I guess Costco has enough Desi members to make it profitable to sell 4lb tubs of dosa/idli batter now? And this stuff is pretty good for $8.79 bucks!
