I'm tired of acting like everything is ok. America is dying in front of our eyes.

Maybe everyone thinks someone else will do something to stop this madness.

But there is no reason to worry now. It won't happen here. 😪

This hit me hard. I'm a Social Studies teacher in a small town, in a red state. I feel like I have to be careful what I post. Yet, I want to be brave and stand up for what I believe in!

We must never forget this crucial passage from the Declaration of Independence. May all those who have the power to act – summon their courage, see the whole chessboard, seize the moment – and save our country. A book of etiquette is of no use when Fascism is knocking down our door.

I explained to 5th grade about slavery. I said, " The only way to ensure that something as terrible of slavery doesn't happen again is to never allow one group of people to believe themselves better than others."
Isn't that a terrifying statement?

Martin Luther King Jr. said that “the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge.” We are in a time of challenge. The question for every leader, every citizen is where do you stand?
