I see that Jason Wright addresses Dr Villaroel’s publication problems in an earlier post in his blog :

Obviously, I can’t provide an objective, accurate record of what went on, so please don’t shoot the messenger (again).

The behaviour of academics can be unedifying, but as she had difficulty getting her work published due to the identity of a co-author rather than the information/analysis contained in the paper, perhaps the piece by Jason Wright should also be approached/evaluated on the basis of its contents.

Thanks for revising/replacing your original reply.

I have just rewatched your interview with Dr Villaroel and your post-interview commentary, and also just watched Dr Villaroel’s own video in which she describes her problems getting her work published i.e. :

I get the impression that (some) people do not get the "super" part.
A dog understands quite a lot about the human mind.
Perhaps a bacterium will understand more about the human mind than a human will of an ASI mind/entity.

But at present I think that the development of AGI/ASI is one of several major near-term problems/threats facing our species. I have watched some videos where people say that humans (mis-)using AI pose the real threat. Yes, but irrelevant once ASI exists.

I have read most of it.
And I subscribe to Doom Debates on on youtube.
And I am reading If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies.
I am aware of Knoll's Law and the Gell-Mann amnesia effect.

Tried to add a comment to your "Game Changing UFO Discovery!" video, but youtube does not like a comment with a link.
You are probably already aware of the Sol Foundation's October 25-27 symposium in Italy, but in case you're not, and want (to try) to attend :

I'm not trying to pick a best, but two quite readable books warning of imminent human extinction are :
Racing to Extinction by Lyle Lewis
The Decline and Fall of the Human Empire by Henry Gee.
Although the latter suggests space colonisation as a way to avoid near term extinction.

In case of interest to others who don't subscribe to The Times, I think that the article is about these stars which orbit (rather than crash into) each other :
