Ohh ok, I took another look and I see that thing still only has the two back buttons, but it does have a bunch of tiny extra menu buttons on the front side. It would be nice if those were placed a bit more ergonomically but it's cool to have the option for extra functions and whatnot.

What's wrong with DLSS frame gen? Hadn't heard about any particular/widespread issues with it.

Hopefully we can see some more thorough testing and documentation from folks with the necessary time and resources on this. And if the game really looks better to you without fog then more power to you. But I would probably take a lot of these performance improvement claims with a grain of salt.

All I got out of this was 1(1!) extra fps, at the cost of making places like the oil town incredibly ugly. All the positive comments I've seen floating around are fairly vague and loose, nobody that (I've seen) is documenting a clear and reproducible improvement with a consistent test scenario.

I've tried all of the ini file tweaks people have suggested and at this point I think *maybe* there's something with improving CPU utilization for people with lots of cores, but otherwise this stuff does nothing to really improve performance and this is all just a placebo.

I distinctly remember some of the textures in World looking pretty awful at its launch (especially for some of our gear), and being very unimpressed by how little of a difference the downloadable high res texture setting seemed to make.

Shit can get expensive, sure, but unless you're specifically buying the game just for its dlc characters, you will probably have just as much fun with the base game and can always buy characters that interest you later on sale.

There are basically no DoT jobs left in the game outside of like, Bard maybe. Partially for technical reasons I think. If you want a busy rotation with tons to track then play NIN. If you want to have to optimize around every fight then play BLM. Otherwise yeah it's pretty dull out there.
