This would be beyond a disaster. Not only would prices go up, but the mail would be unreliable, take longer, and some places won't get any mail service at all because it's not profitable.

Know the Panama papers? A response to that to help prevent fraud perpetuated by layers of shell companies was to disclose Beneficial Ownership, who owns what percentage, of most businesses to the government and financial institutions.
