Excellent article. I completely agree with you. Professor Brittney Cooper made the point in a thread yesterday that people are losing their ability to recognize context. This is key for understanding history and literature. AI manipulation of Frederick Douglass’ photos rob them of that.

This won’t stop until masses of white Americans are in the streets to stop it. I know about the 7 million at the No Kings March and the white people filming ICE, but it is going to take far more white people protesting and putting themselves at risk to stop this.
