Today we pause to remember October 7 — a day of pain and loss. We pray for healing, for the release of hostages, and for lasting peace. May our prayers bring light to the darkness.

A prayer following the attack at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue. 🙏
God our refuge and strength,
close at hand in our distress;
meet us in our sorrow and lift our eyes
to the peace and light of your constant care.
Help us so to hear your word of grace
that our fear will be dispelled by your love.
Amen.

A Prayer for Black History Month. 🙏
A PRAYER FOR BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Compassionate God,
who sent Jesus Christ to deliver us
from all manner of injustices and inequalities,
create in us new hearts and enlarged visions,
to see the image of God in every person
irrespective of background, race and ethnicity.
May we be generous in our love of others
as we work towards ending racism and injustice;
creating communities of human flourishing,
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

Rosh Hashanah begins this evening! Our Bishops send warm greetings and prayers to our Jewish friends.
On behalf of the Anglican Diocese of Leeds, we bring heartfelt good wishes to our Jewish friends as you celebrate Rosh Hashanah. In these extraordinarily difficult times, we pray that the High Holy Days may be a time of refreshment and blessing, and we assure you of our continued prayers over the coming year. Shanah Tovah! From Bishops Toby, Anna, Arun, Malcolm and Smitha.

A great joy to admit and license Natalie, Jacqueline and David as Readers in the Church, and to license Amy, a Church Army Evangelist, to her role working with young people in Lupset and Thornes as part of the Wakefield ’Every Good Work’ project. @leeds.anglican.org #worship #CofE
