White Ribbon Day marks the national campaign to engage men and boys in ending violence against women and girls. The theme of this year’s events is ‘We Speak Up!’ calling on more men to Speak Up to create a world where everyone is safe, equal, and respected.

At Ripon Cathedral today to join with the Diocese of Leeds to say farewell to Bishop Nick Baines – the first Bishop of Leeds – as he retires at the end of this month.

We thank God for Nick and Linda. Join me in praying for Nick and his family and for the Diocese of Leeds in all that lies ahead.

Today at Lambeth Palace I met with ecumenical partners & relevant UK charities & agencies to reflect on my pilgrimage to the Holy Land, where I listened, prayed, & stood in solidarity with our Palestinian sisters & brothers in Christ, & with all who work for justice & peace.

I was at Manchester Cathedral today for a round table discussion on poverty - part of this year’s events marking 40 years since the Church’s landmark Faith in the City report. Its call to action remains as urgent as ever — to build a bold vision and a clear plan to end poverty.

Archbishop Hosam & I prayed at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on our final day of pilgrimage. To walk where Jesus walked & to meet with our brothers and sisters in Christ who bear faithful witness in the Holy Land today is a profound privilege.

Inter Faith Week begins on Sunday, an initiative dedicated to strengthening interfaith relations, and fostering mutual understanding. All this begins with friendship. I encourage all our churches to build friendships with neighbours of other faith communities. #InterFaithWeek
