Rapidly heading for 50. Christian, craft beer bore, dad joke peddler, dog person.
I've mainly enjoyed the first two episodes, I'm yet to be totally convinced, but it's new Trek, and I'm supremely grateful, thanks for your *exceptional* analysis. Also thanks for using the word "twat" twice in two weeks👍. But, PLEASE, lose the falling cherry blossom. OMG LOSE IT. Love you bye.

You're not making yourself popular with me - I'll be 50 before the end of next month 😂

But I support what you say about improvements to that awful X-C route to Birmingham, especially on their 1990s trains which are stuffy, uncomfortable, old fashioned, dirty and never have anywhere near enough carriages. It's an awful experience in every way.

I don't disagree, personally. But for business travel/commuters, to fire up the "Northern Powerhouse", journey time is more significant than the number of departures, IMO. Assuming 2 minutes per stop, there's no reason for a 35 mile journey with 2 intermediate stops should take any more than 30 mins

I agree with pretty much all of that, especially Leeds to Birmingham being awful, but re trains Leeds to Manchester - it's not just about quantity. The fastest trains take 50mins to do that journey, the slowest ones 1hr 35mins. It's 35 miles. Doesn't matter how many there are if they're that slow.

This is great news, thanks for remembering me for the update. However, it seems Munroe K will now reap the benefits of the station, despite picking up a much smaller share of the cost than planned. Oh well. Now, having lived in Leeds for over 30 years, I'm just hoping for trams before I die

That whole piece is simply written as an excuse to include this line

Wow. My "everyday carry" is my phone and my glasses. No wallet, no cash, no pocket knives or first aid or notebooks or anything. Don't see what else I need "every day" other than a phone and a pair of glasses

Well they must have a system where you get only one Christmas. Because Chris Rea is already dead. So either Paddington means he's going to take Rea back to Teeside and animate him, Weekend at Bernie's style, through the Christmas season, or heaven allows you to celebrate one Christmas after you die.

Screenshotted and diarised, again 😉 I hope you're as angry as I am at the government's attempts to, yet again, frustrate, push back or outright sink the Leeds tram network that we've seen this week.

Yes - Lego are offering a free replacement sticker, but that's missing the "rivets" in the corners, and the ellipse around the delta in the Starfleet logo.....

According to the Bank of England's inflation calculator, that's the equivalent of £4,448 today 😮

After finishing the "stardrive section" (ok, secondary hull), I'm finding the saucer, so far, to be pretty technical and fiddly. Love the nacelles though, beautiful-looking pieces of Lego which attach in a weirdly satisfying way.

Phew - for a moment I thought it didn't say Christmas on the box and I was about to lose my rag
