What’s wild is that a sitting President can’t tell Palestine from Mozambique, and says so in a public statement—something that would have rocked any administration in the past—but this will simply get lost in the noise of all the other incompetencies and horrors now

Also important to note: since this segment aired, Gov Newsom has signed new legislation in which *some* formerly incarcerated people can work as firefighters: It requires being able to expunge their criminal record.

Notes: as you can see in the interview, incarcerated people welcome the opportunity to fight fires to reduce their time. They have a choice. However, what California voted for in 2024 was to keep INVOLUNTARY prison labor intact.

The capitalist class would rather we never know how much force and repression it took for them to take control, or how much resistance they faced. They want us to think capitalism evolved as the “best” system through fair competition.
