Happy new year, everyone. I’ve not been on here much lately so allow me to introduce myself again, I’m Lee and I like to paint abandoned, isolated buildings in familiar yet otherworldly settings.
A nestled group of buildings in a dark landscape. Oil and acrylic on canvas. Gulls spiral a large white lighthouse. Oil and acrylic on canvas. Kingdom. A group of buildings partially protected by a corrugated fence in a flat landscape. Oil and acrylic on canvas. The Missing Urn. A moody topiary garden. Oil and acrylic on canvas.

That’s fascinating. I wonder why that is?

Now that I’d like. Or at least a disused underground station or something.

Thank you. We went to see them at the Royal Albert Hall last week. They were superb.

I wondered if you must have done. That would be incredible. There is an abundance of history tantalisingly close to the surface around here, I’m sure.

The Conekeeper’s Cottage

Acrylic on canvas
A small dwelling with a collection of traffic cones stored next to it, plus one on the roof. A telegraph pole and long shadows from roof beams also feature.

Small world! I’m originally from King’s Lynn but been in Ely for past fifteen years or so. You must be itching to dig some holes just north of Ely before another housing estate goes up?

My neck of the woods too!

Nope. But they’re good friends.

It really was a brilliant concept.
