I highly recommend Inkscape as a graphic technician. After years of professional use, it has never made me want to return to Illustrator.

All that being said...
From personal experience, I can tell you that if you can use an alternative software in your workflow, that works on Linux natively, then you should try it. While it may take some getting used to, it is often a better option in the long run.

It depends on the software and your workflow.
Wine for simpler applications that work well on Linux through compatibility layers.
Virtual Machine (VM) for moderately demanding apps that don’t need full hardware access.
Dual Boot for resource-intensive programs, or those with limited compatibility.

We all did. Don't worry about it and keep trying. It's a completely natural part of the "rite of passage" of switching to Linux. You have to break your first few systems before you learn how to use it.
