Just one more reason I left the state...where we are now might not be a liberal haven, but it's an order of magnitude better than east TN if you're not a white, conservative, cishet Christian man. It was always made abundantly clear my whole family were outsiders and would not be welcome there.

Gotta love how they failed to completely check the wind relative to their advance before firing off smoke/gas munitions and had to check their own momentum because the clouds started blowing back right at them. Absolute clowns.

That's largely been my experience with so many of the Middle Eastern dishes I make. I love kibbeh bil sanieh, but rarely does a batch take me less than three hours from start to finish. The end result's 100% worth it, however.

My eyes just rolled so far back in my goddamn skull I just saw my brain, I swear to god. I dont know that I would've been able to refrain from jumping in and debating him, honestly. I think it just would've been a siren call I couldn't refuse.

I made a quick reproduction of a Roman "flagrum" once out of braided leather + studded with fossil shark teeth, and tested the end result on a bag stuffed with fabric. The way it shredded the bag without any effort was terrifying.
