This is not to say that “Bernie would’ve won” and more so that there were BIG RED FLAGS that Latinos (particularly the RGV) were among the first and quickest groups to begin drifting from the most recent iteration of the Democratic establishment.

I also wish we could differentiate the data—something tells me if you’re first or second generation, you’re more likely to vote Dem, while if you’ve been here, you’re more likely not to. I would bet money on it!

Obviously not a hard rule, but it is very complex and somewhat puzzling

I think chalking it up to misogyny is an easy target. Clinton did very well with Latinos! This drop off in support from Latinos imo is because Republicans started talking economy more—dems just assumed we’d (as a monolith) stick with them. We’re a racial minority but don’t see ourselves as one.

Many of my own people, a not insignificant portion, are actively cheering it on. Economy is how we win imo.

American individualism has seeped into our politics so much so that we as voters, as the general electorate, are inherently selfish. I hope I’m wrong, but the way it’s going…it’s not enough

This doesn’t happen because of race or gender, it comes from years of being ignored and treated as “safe blue” votes.

Look at the other side of the border—they all voted for a socialist.

Not at all saying inflation is Dems fault, but the fact that they refused to recognize it as a problem (until too late, I might add) allowed Trump to come in and take charge of it. Voters, especially those not attuned into political process, are more easily persuaded in that respect.

As a Latino—it’s less “she’s a black woman” and much more “I wouldn’t change a single thing from Biden” when working class people in poverty were actually actively struggling with inflation.
