Zum 1. Juli 25 wechselte Professor M. Pester vom Leibniz-Institut DSMZ-Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen & Zellkulturen an die TU München. Dort ist er Professor für Mikrobielle Physiologie. Der Mikrobiologe leitete von September 2017 bis Juni 2025 die Abteilung Mikroorganismen an der DSMZ.
