I got so lucky on the one and only gamejam I did. My team was a programmer who had done tons of jams before, an artist who was on the exact same wavelength as the team, a composer who had several friends that played the music he wrote for it, and me who just got to write.

Game devs deserve a nice awards show that takes them seriously, honors the medium, and is popular enough that people want to tune in. It is possible, and TGA is close but not there yet.
