Local parties shouldn't try to ratfuck primary elections by creating rubrics to evaluate candidates that focus far less on policy than on whether you're part of the party apparatus.

I should wear my BattleTech mechwarrior jacket more, not just because it's oversized and makes me look more butch, but also as a subtle mockery of chickenhawks who sit in their cushy Congressional offices wearing military jackets while simping for illegal acts of war
