Man, I put a lot of time into this one back in the day, but not as much time as Final Fantasy 1. I grabbed a cart from my local retro store too! I've been recollecting all the games I played as a kid.

Mine was called "Aladdin's Castle". Today there is an 80's themed arcade in my town with lots of restored machines, but it isn't in the mall.

If Syndel is stuck in an angel body, what are the chances that Gaia is stuck in a demon body? That would explain why angels are pretty selective about who sees her.

The military recruits from the poor. At any point, about half of our "volunteers" are there for financial reasons. Either they want a chance at college, or the military was the only place that would give them a job.
The Military Industrial Complex is another matter entirely. Dis them all you want.

I did the calculations a while back. Around 2016 or so, 20% of one year of defense spending could build enough three star hotels to house everyone that is homeless.

I still have the Dragon Warrior clone I wrote back in 1994 using Turbo Pascal 7.0. Sadly, I lost the source code a long while ago.

Huh. I actually wrote a test to see if this was true. The stack is not faster than the heap. Looks like I have some older knowledge that is no longer valid.

To be fair, if you need 2 MB of memory for one function, you're doing a lot of data operations. And if you're doing a lot of data operations, they'll be faster if they are on the stack...
