Finally some good news from Gaza! The ceasefire has begun, and three hostages have been transferred to the Red Cross. I don't know whether we'll get to phase 2 or phase 3, and a real Middle East peace will be very elusive. But at least the killing has paused for now. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/01...

This Fossil Friday, we bring you the Apatosaurus: a long-necked dinosaur that could reach a size of 73 ft (22 m) long! The Museum’s first Apatosaurus was discovered at Wyoming’s Bone Cabin Quarry in 1898. When it went on display in 1905, it was the first sauropod dinosaur ever mounted!

I understand the anger at insurance companies. But I'm appalled by the glorification in some quarters of the murder of Brian Thompson. Yes, he was an insurance executive, but he was also a dad and certainly didn't deserve to be executed and have people jeer at his family's loss.
