Soon to be a retiree, after 41 years as a civil servant. I like writing books about football.
That’s a fantastic anonymity in London, where you just blend into what everyone else is doing in the outer space of your own bubble. There’s none of this localism shite, either. We all just rub along.

I think I’d still remember a racist school boy from 45-50 years ago, as I’m the same age as Farage. I think I’d also wonder whatever happened to the horrible bastard.

I loved watching Paul Gascoigne making his breakthrough in the 80s. Peter Reid before that, because of his all action style. He epitomised Everton.

She carries on like that, she’ll lose a lot of votes. Her party will end up in ‘Isolation’.

Ex-BBC Breakfast sports presenter Rob Bonnett, once gave me a funny look, as he sat at my dinner table, at a ‘Calor Gas Village of the Year’ ceremony in 2007.

I’m not being funny, but isn’t the word ‘sudoriferous’. I literally just read that in a dictionary.

Great memories of them winning their only major trophy, the 1972 League Cup. Banks was magnificent, and the oldest player on the pitch, George Eastham scored the winner.

Were they not original founders of the league in 1888? With their original name, of course.

A proper and dramatic cup final, too - just like the old days. Palace keeper should definitely have been sent off.
