Totally - I've seen so much criticism of the book in r/ezraklein. I thought part of it could be progressives not wanting to hear that they're hindering building. But it is also fair to be concerned that this abundance approach might not lead to an equitable society.

This was a great post! Reminded me of the ep Nate ES had done with the author of Home Truths (a great book by the way) which suggests he sees the need of using both carrot and sticks. Have you gotten into Ezra Klein's Abundance? Curious of your take on this as (US) housing is covered significantly

Loved this. I’ve been thinking about how this hidden complexity leads to populism—simple narratives are appealing when people don’t understand systems. Add low literacy rates and resistance to giving up present-day comforts (like for climate action) and the gap between experts and the public widens
