That reaction, the shock, the grief, the fear, is something POC, and Latinos especially when it comes to ICE, have felt on and off for years. Our nervous systems are in utter and total shock constantly.

Not because I’m cruel, not because I believe white people are inherently evil or deserve to suffer, but because for the first time ever, I’m seeing them respond the way the human nervous system is supposed to respond to tragedy, to abuse, and to terror.

However, seeing white people, specifically, finally react to what is happening to POC, and what has been happening to POC for so long, feels almost euphoric.
