An acquaintance of mine used to think you could drink as many pints of shandy as you wanted and still be under the drink drive limit. It had to be explained to him that 8 pints of shandy is 4 pints of lager.

Yeah we still rent. Both were on the property ladder/chain gang, both came off worse from previous relationships, too old to get a mortgage now even if we had a deposit. I’ve no pension either. Could be worse though eh? Just crack on and see what happens as always.

I built up an £800 overdraft and went to the bank manager to get a loan to pay it off, but they didn’t cancel the overdraft so I ran it up again 😂. All while getting a grant and a loan for a course I got kicked off of after the first year. Good times.

When I was a student in London in the mid 90s we used use our cheque guarantee cards to cash cheques in Threshers when we had no money. I applied for hardship funds and had to produce bank statements. I still remember the prissy tutor going “you pay cheques to Threshers?!?!”

I am and I aren’t, sort of. Work through my Ltd co but it’s regular gig for one client so payment is weekly. Just had to set up a payment plan for my dividend tax though cos I’d been naughty and not put enough by due to buying guitars and Lambretta parts.

I was in Lincoln at the time where it was more of a junior school ages 8-11, but moved back to Bradford for 3rd year where everyone else had just finished middle school which went 9-13 I think. Middle schools were shut in early 90s in BD

Hofner do some lower priced versions for around 300-500, though the current available colours are a bit shit. Vintage original t4s Verythins are at least a grand on Reverb
