I mean IMHO it's on you as a parent to push back on some of those things. Like no you're not getting special shoes (Williams sisters as an example), and you might not be the most fashionable but you have clothes that work. Aka figure out a way to make it work. It's your job to say no.

Need to start with someone to trust! You should put together one of people that are keeping it real!
