This was an interesting combo in that having seen the hybrid Mallards individually mixed in with other standard Mallard populations- these 2 showed up together during the past Spring migration and were inseparable-siblings more than likely. #birds

Beginning to see more male Mallards 🦆 as Fall pairing with females begins. Mating will start in late winter/early Spring. I live near a river that presents areas of open water all year long, so a great number of water fowl remain throughout the winter despite frigid temps. Water is life 💦 #birds
