But billionaires don't like that; they would rather have us working for them from childhood until death so they can extract as much wealth from our work as possible. It's past time we put an end to that and reclaim the fruits of our labor.

With advances in technology and equitable distribution of wealth, there's no reason any of us should need to work longer. We should be able to work less, not more. There is more than enough productivity to keep things running and let people work less.

I will admit that for news I do somewhat wish for more of a “cable package” that bundles a lot of people in one payment instead of needing to decide which individual “streams” to support, though.
January 22, 2026 at 6:19 AM
I think what we have is working as best it can. Those who can support independent journalists do, and if they feel they can share their work without requiring payment that is great and I am thankful for that.
January 22, 2026 at 6:19 AM
Another perspective is that the pro-regime media has no shortage of funding to keep spreading propaganda, and if we want to reach the masses we need to make facts and information accessible to them. So that agues for making independent media free.

I generally agree but journalists need to feed their families too. It’s a sad situation to see the current state of mainstream press right now.

Good. I am not a lawyer, but whenever we return to sanity this should provide grounds for charges of evidence tampering and/or obstruction of justice for anyone involved if they do anything to the evidence, IMO.

It would help to illustrate to the average American who does not follow politics just how low our standing in the world has fallen if a lot of countries decline to participate.
January 21, 2026 at 6:05 AM
To add, while I agree with @mikerosemn.bsky.social I also support any other nations boycotting/withdrawing their athletes from the Olympics planned to be held here (LA?). While I want our athletes to have good competition this would send a strong signal to the world that we are not OK right now.

Ok since no edit button - in the first post I meant if you want to avoid trouble from state police.
January 12, 2026 at 5:28 AM
And if the charges stick (I know, a heavy lift, but it could happen) state convictions are not pardonable by the president, so it gets them off the streets for a while
January 12, 2026 at 5:25 AM
State police forces need to be arresting these goons and charging them at the state level. Even if the cases don’t succeed, it will get them off the streets and set a precedent where if you want to trouble from star cops you need to stop doing things like this.

Exactly, it's not his, he just has possession of hers. It means nothing other than she's sucking up to him to try to sway him (which might work, and might be good for Venezuela if she succeeds, so ok) but also illustrates how Trump is devoid of any judgment aside from flattery.
January 9, 2026 at 6:26 AM
Agree but it’s not just ICE. Bongino is CBP (border patrol). We need to root all of them out and make them accountable for their crimes against immigrants and citizens alike. And don’t forget Noem while we are at it.

TBH, the new roller coaster at Six Flags Saudi Arabia (Falcon's Flight I think?) has been showing up in my feed a lot (I like roller coasters), but it's in Qiddiya City, Saudi Arabia. It looks awesome, but yeah, I'll enjoy it virtually for now thanks; no plans to visit.

Nothing will diminish our standing, our influence, and our respect around the world more than voluntarily withdrawing from being a participant in world affairs. It creates a void that Russia (and China) will happily swoop in to fill. This is deliberately sabotaging our country to benefit Russia.
January 8, 2026 at 3:03 AM
Nothing like withdrawing from the UN Democracy Fund to illustrate how far we have fallen. Even though they'll spin this as saving money or fighting "woke" things, this to me just reeks of Russian influence.

I am sure there is an "exclusive" circle of Hell just for these folks. We just need to God to get on with their "deportations". (Miller should get his own area, watching endless videos of all the non-white folks who have accomplished more than he did, for eternity)

I’d be interested in a side by side comparison between reps on the types of constituent requests they help with and whether they deliver results. Curious to see if there are any patterns. Might make for relatable ways to critique some reps during election season if they underperform.
January 6, 2026 at 5:58 AM
Only tangential question - does anyone collect data on “constituent services” provided by our congress critters? I know I made use of our Democratic congresswoman’s staff for help with my wife’s green card renewal in the past.
January 6, 2026 at 5:58 AM
I’m sure they’ll vote to rename a post office or two. Or try to put Trump’s name on as many things as they can.
January 6, 2026 at 5:58 AM
Thank Citizens United. The idea that nearly unlimited funds given to your preferred candidate(s) by corporations, PACs, etc is somehow protected free speech (especially when it also can be anonymous) is the cause of this problem. Rich people can buy politicians legally. It legalized bribery.
December 28, 2025 at 6:06 AM
This is because too many "establishment" Democrats are beholden to a lot of the same billionaires and rich corporations as the whole of the Republican party. We need to replace them with people who are willing to 1) give up corporate PAC money, and 2) commit to reforming campaign finance, at least
December 28, 2025 at 6:02 AM
I am not a lawyer, so can't speak to the legality either way, but the (good/bad?) news is grifters are gonna grift, and certainly nearly all of these people he has pardoned will be committing new crimes they can be charged with eventually. It's not a matter of if, but when.
