This DR brush mower will go through almost anything. I wish I had taken a 'before' pic - it was very jungle-like.
There is a lot of land to clear on this future homestead, and most is being done with a chainsaw and this walk-behind brush hog.

I planted 2 apple trees (Anna, shown, and a Golden Dorsett), 1 pear (Kieffer to go with a Tennousi and a Acres Home already planted), and a fig (Chicago Hardy to go with a Celeste). Root veggies and borage seeded around the base. I also have 2 plum trees.

Made it out of this year's Fort Bend Master Gardeners fruit tree sale with two apple trees (Anna and Dorsett) and one pear tree (Kieffer). These will be the 1st apple, but 3rd pear in the food forest I'm building on the future #homestead.

I had a frightening experience on Saturday while burning brush on the future #homestead. The wind picked up causing the #fire to spread beyond my control, and for a moment, I feared it would reach a nearby wooded area dense with fuel. I sustained minor burns on my legs but am otherwise unharmed.

We had a hard freeze a couple of weeks ago. I covered the bed, and most plants made it. I have two Napa cabbages, both looking pretty good now.
