Years ago, on my birthday, I was at Kings Cross waiting for the last train back to Newcastle.
The Flying Scotsman pulled in after doing a rail tour, so me & Other Half went over to see it. He told the driver it was my birthday, and the driver invited us onto the footplate for a quick look 😀
