I went to wedding on New Years Eve with my husband and oldest who was a toddler at the time. It was -51°C, Northwestern Ontario. We had to wear snow suits in the van because the heat wouldn't heat LOL

That is unhinged lol. I was a municipal councillor in a small rural community. I showed up to the question night without a speech, said how I felt, and got elected. No strategy involved, just honesty.

Its so hard to mandate things like vaccines due to everyone having personal choice over their own bodies. I wish that government messaging had been more effective, but it was hard to overpower the misinformation machine.

Early intervention in violent homes with children would also be ideal. Frequently repeated #CommunityHealth campaigns educating about #IPV and the effects of violence on families is another idea. Getting to the root cause of violence is really what this comes down to.

#IPV in #2020 did not just go up, the severity of the violence did as well. More broken bones, more stangulations. A #gunban does not prevent #IPV Having harsher penalties for repeat offenders including more invasive home searches and longer probabtion periods would be good.
