American centrist elites, when in power, followed the right-wing outrage machine. They feared doing anything coercive to stop the far-right rise, lest they be labelled communist dictators (they were anyways).

Alternative headline: "NA manufacturers fear competition from superior product".

"Cheap Chinese" is designed to appeal to those that hear 'made in China' as a slur for low quality, and therefore somehow the consumer is the loser in this deal.

There will be opposition, especially from rural, but if the libs don't hold their ground and trust Alto to make decisions, we will end up with a UK HS2 situation: endless delay, ballooning costs. @markgerretsen.bsky.social

Some Frontenac County residents concerned about the high speed rail project they say appears to come with costs but little benefit.

Good simple message. Sustainable infrastructure that actually improves your life is very popular. Alto HSR polls very popular, and people's main concern is delays. We have to keep reminding the libs that when they consternate over whether to accelerate the project.

Not the first time either. Don't expect the company to bow to anything other than a legal crackdown from the federal government.

"At a moment when revenue is so critical for our company"-CEO. Typical fascism-enabling. when the economy starts to suck, the unscrupulous turn to juicy contracts in state repression. The talented employees and enlightened clients need to gtfo.

Discovered this when I tried to whitelist a common software for "Smart App control" which is a new security firewall but with ZERO settings and a big warning message of all the repercussions if you turn it off. Evidently I turned it off.

This project looks very cool in the render. Glad to see the tide is finally turning on NIMBYism with Councillor Moise voting in favor.

A real courier should confirm this but essentially i think it comes from a place to chill on standby on the steps, and watch the cars and couriers go by. there's lots of space, security is chill, and Place Ville Marie is the main generator of courier jobs.

I was told by my department that it's one of the main social media platforms for Canadians therefore we have to post there to reach them. No concept of leadership within Canadian bureaucracy, any change will have to come from the Ministers, so keep pressuring them.

Same with CNN ,with this "here's why it's strategic". they love to blow past the simplest interpretations of a few men's desire to express raw power by changing lines on a map. There's no need to intellectualize it, beyond the explanations of how this absolutely undermines western security.
