Essential reading from @carolecadwalla.bsky.social. Not comforting, but it helps me set my compass for survival & resistance.

Item 15 from Rebecca Solnit: "If they try to normalize, let us try to denormalize. Let us hold on to facts, truths, values, norms..."

Fight their lies with truth & values.

These liars are so full of themselves.

‘Look at me, I’m completely fact-free, but I’ll throw my hateful ignorance in your face because I can!’

So proud of my German speaking countries- all three showed yesterday a solemn solidarity with Israel.
Frankfurter Rundschau:
Zwei Jahre nach dem Terrorangriff der Hamas auf Israel werden in Berlin die Namen der rund 1.200 Opfer verlesen. Zugleich muss die Polizei gegen Gewaltverherrlichung vorgehen.

We need to see the anti-democracy bias at the @nytimes.

On the anniversary of the worst assault on Jews since the Holocaust, the opinion page had not 1 but 2 pieces biased against the Jewish state.

But wait, there’s more! 2 pieces minimizing Trump’s threat to democracy.

It’s on the dark side now.

Eitan Horn, a 38-year-old Argentinean-Israeli citizen, remains a hostage in Gaza after being abducted from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7th during the Hamas attack. Eitan, an informal educator with a background in youth movements and a former emissary in Peru, is still being held by Hamas. #2YrsTooLong

A man with medium length hair and full facial hair looking at the camera. He's wearing a white shirt with a logo on the chest. The image is a promotional graphic for a talk by Eitan Chitayat, a creative director and advocate for Jewish identity. The talk is titled "That Argentinian Brother Jew" and is part of his "I'm That Jew" movement.

Makes you wonder why all the people that are demanding Israel lay down their arms are not demanding Hamas agree to the peace agreement that's on the table.

The UK, France, and Canada want to give the terrorists a state. The least they could do would be to ask for the release of 20 tortured hostages in return.

The United States, UK, and Europe must continue to pressure Hamas and its sponsors in Qatar, Iran, and Turkey to release the 48 hostages.

I’m told that Hegseth adheres to some “Cult of the Operator” subculture that makes him think he looks so cool doing this

Exactly.

As if mourning the victim washes them clean of the guilt of victimizing a minority.

Your yeoman's effort is greatly appreciated. I heard former hostage Eli Sharabi say that the support from around the world for Israel and the release of the hostages is very meaningful to him, the hostages' families, and Israelis. And sometimes the news even gets through to the hostages.

Thank you to everyone that took the time to read my posts today. I hope the hostages feel us thinking of them and that they are able to come home soon.

Today many of us have asked, how did the West get here, with terrorists celebrated and their victims abused.

That's how. Planned and executed by the genocidal regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the help of Russia. A campaign of arms & propaganda to kill Jews.

And the world collaborates.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has funded, armed, and directed Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad for years. A sovereign Palestine without restrictions could easily remain Iran’s forward base against Israel.

In the months following #October7, we had hope for these babies.

We learned they’d been murdered—choked by the hands of a terrorist.

This is Hamas: pure hatred. It curdles the spirit of the world.

Stand up to it.

Demand that Hamas surrender and release the hostages.

But it turns out that the teenager was not a palestinian Arab – he was Tuvia Grossman, a Jewish American yeshiva student who was pulled from his taxi in Jerusalem by a mob of Arabs and beaten to an inch of his life. 3/8

Not "poor" reporting by the @nytimes.

Deceptive, false reporting.

It has happened so very many times that it can't be interpreted as anything other than deliberate, and therefore malicious.

...except that the photo is Tuvia Grossman, a Yeshiva student pulled from his taxi and beaten by hate filled Arabs.
This is just one example of poor reporting by @nytimes.com.

On September 30, 2000, an image of a bloodied “palestinian” teenager crouching in front of a club-wielding Israeli policeman made front page headlines in the Associated Press, New York Times, and other major media outlets. 1/8
