Bee is a non-binary anarchist (non-binarchist?) who ranks albums and despairs, mostly. Comics, wrestling, stuff like that too.
I don’t want to share too much from this because go buy it, but seriously Hikaru Yuzuki is an absolute artistic legend and one of my personal faves look at this stuff!

16) Hikaru Yuzuki Art Works 1968-2019

Counting this art book as it contains a few rare one-shots of Yuzuki’s but also this is the most gorgeous collection of colour art from one of the manga industry’s finest, framed across six magazines, five decades, and 131 volumes.

15) Tease Me Harder vol.2 by Fumika Minami

Cute and sexy, but delves into darker waters here, deftly navigating the complications of relationships involving BDSM. Honestly the art style keeps it from being crushing at times, which is a relief. Great comic.

14) Moon Knight Epic Collection 1 by Doug Moench, Don Perlin, Bill Sienkiewicz, and so many others.

Not a quick read, but a great collection of Moon Knight's earliest outings, showing his rapid development from one-off opponent to a richly complex character, with a lot of context-adding backmatter!

4/5 of the way into the first Moon Knight epic collection and it’s finally time for a series called Moon Knight!
February 11, 2026 at 2:03 PM
Hitting a point in this Moon Knight collection where Moench and Sienkiewicz have started realising what they have with Marc’s personalities, and the amount it instantly adds to the character is amazing.

New album list entry!

There's something viscerally thrilling hearing Blue Cheer brush up against the first inklings of a heavy metal sound on Vincebus Eruptum, a forward step so huge that it makes the record fairly timeless. 539.

New album list entry!

The Divine Comedy is perhaps too witty and winking a venture, but the tunes are incredibly good, the wit well-aimed, and basically that'll do for 485.

New album list entry!

PJ Harvey's Dry is the sort of album that changes lives, a raw wound picked at, an unflinching look at womanhood and society's negative perceptions as such. One of my all-time faves at 44.

New album list entry!

Went into Joe Ely's Honky Tonk Masquerade blind and was pleasantly surprised by some incredibly solid country rock. A worthwhile experience for anyone who wants their tonk honked. In at 568.

New album list entry!

2026 albums #5

Joyce Manor's latest is another lesson in 'less is more', as 9 songs and 19 minutes get you moving and feeling more than most of anything else. Excellent emo pop-punk at 269.

New album list entry!

Incredibly literary, goofy, and heart-wrenching all at once, as ethereal as ever even with some sick 80s basslines and synths funking it up along the way. More top level Kate Bush at 21.

Oh cool, we get the legendarily brilliant Gene Colan in these back-ups too, that’s wild.
February 7, 2026 at 6:52 PM
I love this page from the first Moon Knight epic collection contextualising Moon Knight becoming a back-up in Hulk magazine, and including the promo box for Sienkiewicz’s debut as well. A real weight to an important moment in comics history.

Next Moon Knight appearances in this collection are a Bill Mantlo Spider-Man two-parter drawn by Mike Zeck and Jim Mooney. He’s still kinda half-baked but can’t complain about the talent involved!

A lovely couple of panels by Keith Giffen from Defenders issue 50
February 7, 2026 at 2:01 PM
It's Friday, so here are this week's albums that will be getting ranked and posted onto the list over the next three days!

Had more than a few tricky ones from the 1001 album generator this week, but I think I'm making headway.

January music stats almost had Weezer beat out Home Counties, but Humdrum's control of my heart and mind stayed strong.
February 5, 2026 at 7:06 PM
Slowly making my way through some early Moon Knight in an epic collection and the third story (Defenders 47-50) has some great Giffen art, seemingly with a new inker every issue. Royer’s definitely the best fit to date!

New album list entry!

ALT BLK ERA are a breath of freshest air, taking the sounds of acts like Enter Shikari and Hadouken! and polishing the idea to a mirror shine. Wholly their own lane, and they're nailing it at 518.

New album list entry!

Elvis Costello & The Attractions' sound is so refined on Imperial Bedroom, to the point of *almost* working against it, but it still comes out as an all-time album of art rock with a balanced view of failed loves. In at 282.

New album list entry!

Yellow & Green is my first encounter with Baroness, and while the former colour is stronger than the latter, the whole of this double album truly wows with a melodic metal exploration of addiction and recover. In at 195.

13) Skip and Loafer vol.5 by Misaki Takamatsu

Lots of heart-fluttering this volume. I keep saving Skip and Loafer for later as a guaranteed joy and I’m foolish. Gimme joy all the time, gonna catch up on this.

12) Takahashi from the Bike Shop vol.2 by Arare Matsumushi

A recent favourite, and the first comic to make me cry this year. A truly beautiful series with a style and tone I’ve not seen anywhere else.
