Got a TDaP shot yesterday and it was smooth sailing. No pain at injection. Slept on that side. Went to work. Then around 11 am I lifted something that was not heavy and suddenly my arm hurt. It has gotten worse throughout the day. Craziest delay from a vaccine ever.

Had to tell my kids we’re probably going to have to take our cat to be put down tomorrow and it was the worst thing we’ve ever had to do. They’re inconsolable.

There’s a woman in line ahead of me at a library event and she’s an extreme gentle parenter who I think is purposely doing it loudly so she can show off how awesome she is. Meanwhile the kids suck and I’m so sick of her voice.

In chapel today, a first grader two pews ahead of me sneezed hard and had like 18” of thick snot dangling from his nose. He got up and walked to his teacher, who was in the pew ahead of him. He tapped her shoulder and she turned around.

I wish they would stop the Chop. My middle schoolers were doing it while playing at recess the other other day in anticipation of the game, and I wanted to stop them. But it’s still acceptable for some reason. So how can you stop them when it’s about to be televised?

My MAGA student is proof that you just can’t please them. She asked if I saw the halftime show. I said I didn’t watch the game. She disgustedly said, “It was some rapper guy & he had women dancing around him in SWEATSUITS! Like, what?!?!” If they’d been T&A’d out, she also would have been that mad.

We had a faculty meeting to discuss what to do if ICE shows up at school. Earlier in the week, we had a lockdown drill and once again the fancy lockdown doorknobs didn’t work. Teacher life is so good right now.

I have a very low special needs 5th grader who is not even at a first grade level. I am modifying to a newer level my gigantic research project, which I already have three tiered levels of, just for him.

I’m really glad my kids are the age they are. This incredible legit snow day is going to be nothing but core memories for them. They’re old enough to take “sledding” down the levee and to make true memories, but also young enough to play with reckless abandon.
