Tuta definitely seems like a much better option than Proton.

On the topic of "billionaire-owned surveillance/fascist/"A.i." trash products", github is mentioned as an alternative?

Github is Micrsoft.

Copilot is an integral part of Github.

Github is trash (I use it every day at work)

This is kinda the place you want to avoid.

Some 60 years ago, a doggo got away from owner and ran down the landing part of the ski jump in Oslo, Holmenkollen, much to the amusement of the spectators that the dog reappeared several years, and other dogs later got the role to "run the hill", and even got a memorial statue for anyone to see.

This is just adorable, I love the energy in these drawings, like they tell a story.

I am not on bsky much, if you have (or get) a fediverse (mastodon / pixelfed / whatever) account or use the bluesky<->fediverse bridge, let me know, and I'll follow you there :O

But, sorry, that does not change the fact that you are ignoring science and are, like many others who find the science around this uncomfortable because of the implication, act like antivaxxers on the matter.

Again,
Read the f...ing science.
Stop your abelism, and stop acting like an antivaxxer.
December 27, 2025 at 12:51 PM
My point is that you are ignoring scientific research...

This is a common trait with meds against obesity and meds against ADHD.

These meds are especially hard for people to admit how work, because they showcase that a lot of what we believed is psychological, isn't.
December 27, 2025 at 12:51 PM
Do you want a list of harmful side effects caused by not taking this med, if you need it?

It is long.

Very, very long.
December 27, 2025 at 12:31 PM
You could start by reading scientific research done on the subject. You would find there is a lot more consensus on this subject than you apparently believe.

And the more research that is done on UPF, the scarier it gets.

But cling to the idea of "psycological" and "addiction".

Your abelism suck.
December 27, 2025 at 12:11 PM
What "premise" do you disagree with?

"you’re claiming those hormonal imbalances make weight lose impossible long term without meds"

No,I am not "claiming that". Doctors that work full time with this, say this. Evidence based research states this. You know, the thing we call "scientific research"

Omg that is so beautiful! If you ever end up in Europe with your bird I would want to take pics of our birds together! :O
December 27, 2025 at 11:56 AM
Do you even read what I write?
December 27, 2025 at 11:54 AM
You are way more likely to get astma if you live in a polluted city.

I guess you could argue that living in a polluted city is cultural.

But it sure isn't psychological.

Non UPF is expensice AF in the US.

Getting hormonal imbalance from UPF is not psychological. It is "eating what you afford".
December 27, 2025 at 11:52 AM
You are saying it is an addiction.

You are saying it is psychological.

Not producing the signalling hormone you need to feel full when you eat, and as a result, eating too much, is not an addiction. It is not psychological.
December 27, 2025 at 11:52 AM
And, well, some populations do have more prevalence of the genes you need to have to develop diabetes type 2 (spoiler, diabetes type 2 is not just a "bad diet" thing like we were taught, it is genetic)

"It’s psychological/cultural" - you call gnawing hunger pains caused by lack of signaling hormone "psychological/cultural"?

wtf??

You don't think this is a major problem elsewhere? As diet preassure and UPF is a thing everywhere, it just has been wose in the US than elsewhere...
December 27, 2025 at 11:39 AM
Eating because you are hungry is not an addiction. Nor is obesity limited to the US, you don't think we use these meds in Europe?

It is in part genetic, linked to diabetes type 2, but it is triggered, so yah, it could be avoided for many. But how tf do you avoid ultraprocessed food?
December 27, 2025 at 11:39 AM
What... The... Actual... Fuck...

Of all the tone deaf, insulting crap done, this must be pretty high up on the list.

FOSS developers generally want to contribute to benefit everyone.

But it ends up being working for billionaires for free?

What happen if we all just stop?

To anyone lashing out at people suffering from obesity:

Obesity is a medical condition, caused by hormonal imbalance that makes you not feel full when you should.

This med fixes a hormonal issue.

To deny people a med that make them feel full as they should, is cruel.

December 27, 2025 at 4:04 AM
This med fixes a hormonal issue that enables you to feel full again, the overeating causing obesity has nothing to with a food addiction, if it did, these meds would not work.

You can read up a lill about how they work, and what the assumed causes for this condition is.

The info is easy to find.
December 27, 2025 at 3:52 AM
Yah, I am sure you probably know more about this than head doctors at the national obesity clinic but whatever. People with this condition are near always likely to gain back whatever they lost on a regular diet, and it is cruel to expect people that cannot feel full as they should, to "try harder"
December 27, 2025 at 3:50 AM
The issue is that you are raised on food that completely mess you up, resulting in a lack of signaling hormones that tells your brain that you are full. Issue is, once that is done, you need meds to fix the issue.

You don't produce these hormones, you get obese. It is that simple.
