I think endings are the hardest part of writing any story. Rarely is a book’s ending quite what I was hoping for, and my own endings are certainly written in a state of listlessness. I’m not sure many writers have it mastered. Perhaps Tolkien. Most YA books tend have happy, satisfying endings.

Totally not in any way inspired by certain corporate parasites today

Wrote a short fiction series about an alien parasite that pilots other bodies for centuries as it grows. The Man in the Yellow Suit is a parasite that gained sapience by taking over a human man. It spent centuries body hopping to build a corporate empire that spread across the universe.

Two concepts! 1) A realm of eldritch nightmares the PCs have all been transported to with a cosmology inspired by the Duat & HP Lovecraft 2) A small city-state land-locked between two nations engaged in a holy war of wildly different theologies, the plot of which I haven’t worked out yet.
