And so far I've... downloaded the game and picked my name.

I would say so. A better-looking version with a lot of what made P3 good being there still, but giving it quality of life updates from the newer games. I haven't finished the remake yet, so I can't say anything about the true end and boss fight, which in the original took forever to finish.

My favorite of the Persona games is still 3. 2 is also up there.

Have you ever tried the Runaway games? Runaway: A Road Adventure was one of my favorites.
