Laser - 100k pages, put to storage for a year, then power it up. I fart loudly and will work without any problems. (expecially old black printers)

This good boy is unkillable. It can print like 200k+ pages without replacing any internal parts (except pickup roller)

configuration page (checking printer mechanics). If nothing working - check USB 2.0 Type-B slot on printer, on old models it can broke, repair is simple.

if it's not help, delete printer, reinstall driver and add printer again with rebooting your PC after reinstalling driver). Will be good to save working driver files somewhere on PC on flashdrive, sometimes its hard to find them again, believe me. If connection is ok - hold button for 5sec to print

P1102 simple like hammer. If it spot working: check power cable first, then usb cable, yes, yes, this is stupid, but it working, if power is ok and connection is ok, check printer properties in windows (it can show 45 error with proper power and USB connection, if so, delete printer and add it again

You're welcome. Before buying printer ask people who repair printers and/or refill cartridges. Question are simple.
Can I use 3rd party cartridges for this printer? Yes - good.
Will it work (scan, print event with super bad quality) even with 0% toner level? Yes - good.

Printer model? But if canon ink printer telling you "i'll not do anything without ink" - its hard to fix. Buy a more accommodating device, like brother MFC-L2740DWR will always scan and even print with very low toner level for example.

Because they want you to buy printers every year with new line of chipped cartridges. Use old - they're better.

not ever one completely died for years, fails and jams are rare. One of them printed 180k pages on one fuser and still working.

Easy to connect to PC (don't know about MAC or Linux, sorry). Easy to unplug pickup roller and clean or replace it, fuser is cheap. It formatter died - just replace the whole printed (unlikely event).
